To become fluent in speaking while learning a second language, many hours must be spent practicing grammar and vocabulary. Learning vocabulary to speak well requires a lot of practice both in and out of school. However, many students do not have access to structured task-specific language practice, which can help them achieve higher levels of proficiency.
As a result, many students are shy or hesitant to participate in classroom speaking activities (Ali, 2016; Tani, 2005). As a result, the use of chatbots can facilitate learning by allowing learners to practice language skills at their own pace using tools such as chatbots (Ali, 2016). Chatbots are software programs that are designed to converse with humans via text or voice.
This pilot has been conducted to understand how second language learners improve their communication skills when using chatbots as virtual assistants designed for language learning
