Collaborators: Dr. Wendy Whitner, Bret Peterson, Carlos Principe, and Ephraim Becker
Goal: A productivity game for adults with ADHD. The project is a team project. The app is currently in progress and will be published on Oculus App Lab.
Audience: Adults with ADHD
Problem: Through our user interview and attending ADHD meetups in AltspaceVR, we gained lots of insights about challenges that adults with ADHD face in terms of prioritizing tasks, procrastination, and communication skills
Technology: An immersive VR game (Should be launched on Oculus App Lab as part of TryUniverse App Publishing course by the end of the course (still in progress))
Action: We were a team of 5 students who developed the game. My role in the project was twofold: user research using design thinking model. I also developed a scene in the game.
Choices: Based on our user research, we created a story where the player is accompanied by an NPC who models and helps the player understand certain concepts (Novice, Expert, scaffolding) then throughout the game and the missions the player needs to do, the player meets a new NPC, where the player has to be their mentor (Novice, Expert, Self-regulation theory (Metacognition))
